about

Toledo natives Bliss Nova have just released Do You Feel, an atmospheric daydream of an album. For fans of Sinkane or Caribou, this six track indie electronic offering glitters with cascading keyboards and 80s synths. The dreamy dance-pop sound began as a bedroom-based side project when brothers Daniel and Joel Trzcinski’s other band was placed on the back burner. “Nothing to Lose” features a trippy synth outro that dissipates into pure ether. “Interlude” whispers straight into instant earworm and album title track “Do You Feel,” but it’s “My Nightmare” that should be on every chillwave mix this year. “All Right” harkens back to the vibe established by “Nothing to Lose,” but album closer “Different” leaves the listeners drifting off, wondering if this entire work was but a dream. - Midwest Action

Remember when “chillwave” was indie’s favorite sub-genre-turned-buzzword (and just as quickly disappeared back in 2011)? The era didn’t produce a whole lot of memorable material, but Toledo’s Bliss Nova make a convincing case for its return with their new release. The group’s new Do You Feel EP showcases their neon-bright take on indie-pop with an undeniable affinity for the dance floor. The project’s placid textures are spun into mesmeric dance cuts which feel simultaneously intimate and distant, and thus feel at home in hazy dorm rooms and dance parties alike. “Nothing To Lose,” the EP’s celebratory first track, finds the duo delivering their most infectious and captivating song so far. - All Things Go

With their recent release ‘Do You Feel,’ Toledo brothers Daniel and Joel Trzcinski, a.k.a Bliss Nova, have churned up an EP equal parts summery chillwave-inspired electro and heavy pop. A brassier cousin of acts such as Washed Out and Neon Indian, Bliss Nova’s music is certain to get you dancing. (Side effects may include nostalgia for the golden days of Hipster Runoff.) - Noise Polluter

about

Bliss Nova Toledo, Ohio

Bliss Nova is an electronic duo of brothers from Ohio. Their first few releases, including debut EP, Do You Feel, and 2019 LP Going Places, helped establish them as “one of the top promising artists from the Midwest."

Their latest EP, Silence, expands their sonic horizons, wading into R&B-inflected D’n”B, nu-disco, house, even vaporwave — their way to process 2020’s isolation and introspection.
